Whole Grains are the Whole Package

Whole Grains are the Whole Package

These Natural Grains Pack a Nutritional Punch
Health experts agree that we need to eat more whole grains for optimal health. But most people don’t know what whole grains are. They have been known to reduce the risks of heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes and obesity, but knowing the health benefits doesn’t help you find them in your local grocery store or learn how to cook with them.

The Definition of Whole Grain
Every grain starts as a whole grain when it grows from the earth. The whole grain (actually the seed or kernel of the plant) has three parts: the bran, the germ and the endosperm.

1. The bran is the outer skin of the seed that contains antioxidants, B vitamins and fiber. (You may have heard of wheat bran or oat bran, which are available in stores and are common ingredients in certain cereals.)

2. The germ is the “baby” of the seed, which grows into a new plant when pollinated. It contains many vitamins, along with protein, minerals and healthy fats. (You may have seen jars of toasted wheat germs in stores, which can be added to a variety of foods to boost nutritional content.)

3. The endosperm is the seed’s food supply that provide that provides the energy needed for the young plant to grow. The largest portion of the seed contains carbohydrates, and smaller amounts of protein, vitamins and minerals.

So the whole grain is one that contains all three parts of the kernel.

Whole grains are processed and refined (the most common practice for making breads, cereals, pastas and flours), the bran and germ are removed, leaving behind the white endosperm. During the process, grains become less nutritious, losing 25% of their original protein content and 17other essential nutrients. While manufactures then enrich” the flour with some vitamins and minerals, a naturally whole grain is still a healthier choice. Compared to refined grains (white bread, white rice, white flour) whole grains pack more protein, fiber, vitamins (B vitamins and vitamin E), and minerals (magnesium and iron, as well as some antioxidants not found in other foods.

Types of whole Grains: Wild rice (which is not actually a seed), brown rice, whole wheat, oatmeal (and whole oats), barley, whole rye, bulgur and popcorn.

Some less common types of whole grains include: amaranth, millet, quinoa, sorghum, and triticale (a hybrid type of rye and wheat).

Adding Whole Grains to Your Diet
New dietary guideline established by the U.S. Government in 2005 recommend that half of your daily grains servings should be whole grains. The easiest way to increase the amount of whole grains you consume is to substitute some processed grains products with their whole grain equivalent. This is as simple as having a slice of whole grain toast, instead of using a slice of white bread in the morning for breakfast or instead of using white flour for pancakes, use whole wheat flour instead. If you’re making homemade soup, toss in a handful of brown rice or barley for added fiber. Make your dessert a healthy one, such as making oatmeal cookies and you won’t feel guilty-you’re adding whole grains!

Reading Food Labels
While at the grocery store, be extra careful reading food labels. Words such as multi grains, stone ground cracked wheat or seven grains don’t necessarily mean the product is made with whole grains. Color doesn’t mean a whole grain either- some brown breads are simply white bread with added caramel color. There is an official whole grain packaging symbol in 2005 created by The Whole Grain Council, called the Whole Grain Stamp that helps consumers find whole grain products. Example: the first ingredient of whole grain bread or cracked should be “whole wheat flour”.

You should next switch to whole wheat pasta and brown rice, to increase your consumption of whole grain. One cup of whole wheat pasta has about 200 calories and 4 grams of fiber.

Brown rice is healthier than white rice and has significantly more nutrients. The refining process that transforms brown rice into polished, white rice strips away most the vitamins and minerals and completely removes all of the fiber and essential fatty acids-basically leaving only the starch behind. Brown rice is a concentrated source for fiber, which speeds up the removal of cancer-casing substances from our bodies. It is also an excellent source of selenium, which has been shown to reduce the risk of colon cancer.

Studies Prove the Benefits of Whole Grains
A 2006 study by Tufts University showed that people who consume the most whole grains are 42% less likely to develop diabetes. Research has found that people with a diet high in whole grains showed a lower risk of both diabetes and heart found that people with a diet high in grains showed a lower risk of both diabetes and heart disease. Whether you want to reduce the risk of disease or you simply want to eat fewer processed foods, adding whole grains to your diet makes sense. So the next time you sit down to watch a movie, bring along a bowl of popcorn and snack with a clear conscious. Whole grains couldn’t be tastier!

The formula for recovery: nutrient timing

At any age, athletic performance and recovery from exercise are enhanced by good nutrition. Recovery nutrition goals include: replenishing fluid and electrolytes (sodium and potassium), replacing muscle fuel in the form of carbohydrates (e.g., grains) providing protein to help repair damaged muscle tissue and stimulate development of new tissue, and timing meals and snacks to make the most of the hard work you’ve work just completed. Let’s examine each of these topics in more detail:

• Fluids. As you age you lose sensitivity to thirst. Your cells need fluid to function, making it critical to replenish fluid lost through a workout. Dehydration may lead to increased fatigued, decreased performance, and muscle cramps before, during and after exercise. Drink approximately 8 – 10 ounces of water during a workout, as well as prior to and following exercise, to help prevent dehydration. Sports drinks are necessary ONLY for moderate to high intensity activities lasting more than 60 minutes.

• Carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are the most important source of energy for higher intensity or longer duration physical activity. It is necessary to replenish the glycogen (stored sugar in your liver and muscles) used to fuel your exercise session. Carbohydrate-rich foods, with the appropriate amount of fluid, transport fuel to your muscles more quickly. To help speed up your recovery after intense exercise, include complex carbohydrates, such as brown rice, oatmeal or oat bran cereal, and whole grain breads, bagel or English muffin.

• Protein. By including protein with at least two meals a day, you are likely taking in enough protein to build, repair and protect your muscles. Adequate protein before exercise may also help to reduce post-exercise muscle soreness. Red meat, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy products are good sources of protein. For vegetarian diets, beans, nuts and soy can be used to increase protein intake.

• Nutrient timing. Ideally, you should be eating anywhere from 15-60 minutes after your workout. You don’t need to refuel your body with a large number of calories. Examples of appropriate snacks, which include sources of protein and carbohydrate mentioned above, are: Greek yogurt topped with blueberries, a sliced apple with peanut butter or finger vegetables with a side of hummus.

• Vitamins and minerals. Fruits and vegetables help to ensure you are meeting your daily nutritional requirements. Including a “rainbow” of fruits and vegetables in your diet supplies your body naturally with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants (think berries, winter squash, broccoli, tomatoes, apples, beets and cauliflower). Although there’s is no harm in taking a multivitamin, a healthy, balanced diet should cover your vitamin and mineral needs without the additional supplements.

Proper nutrition is also important on your “rest” days. Consider this break from exercise as the perfect opportunity to nourish your body with a well-balanced diet. Your body will thank you during your next bout of physical activity with increased strength and endurance.

Choose Your Drink Wisely

Whether you drink sugar-sweetened or diet soda, new research suggests you may want to opt for H2O instead.

Cardiovascular Risk – Daily diet-soda drinker had a significantly higher risk of heart attacks and strokes than nondrinkers over an average 10-year follow up, a Columbia and University of Miami study reports.

Higher-Blood Pressure – for each 12-oz. serving of sugar-sweetened soda or fruit drink, sippers had a bump in blood pressure reported in a multi-university study.

Number 1 Nut

When it comes to antioxidants walnuts outscored eight other types of nuts in a recent analysis. They also have more of the healthy fats that are especially good for your heart. To reap the benefits you need to eat about seven walnuts a day.

What Liquids to Drink in Order to Lose Weight

What to drink is a problem for many people who are on a diet. Many people seem to then to draw a distinction between food calories and liquid calories. This means that someone who dieted fastidiously and worked out could sabotage his/her own efforts simply by drinking a big glass of high-calorie orange juice. Fortunately there are some drinks you can drink that can help, or at least not harm your weight-loss efforts.

Water-Simple water is the best liquid to take in both for weight loss and simple health. It delivers exactly what your body needs: water. It contains no calories, sodium, sugars or bad fats. Water also fills your stomach for free, helping you curb hunger and eat less at meals.
When you consume a cold drinks in your body, you burn about one calorie per ounce to warm the body temperature. Although eight calories per cup doesn’t seem like much, it’s an easy way to get just a little edge on your weight loss with each and every glass your drink. I recommend both ice water and unsweetened iced tea for this method, as neither drink carries any calories.

There a number of diet teas that purport to help you lose weight. Some of teas include stimulants similar to those found in diet pills or even laxatives to help excrete your way to losing weight. Diet spotlight reports that green tea, not specialized diet tea, has undergone a wide clinical study. Some of those studies found that green tea produces a thermogenic response in the body, boosting the metabolic rate by slightly raising body temperature. Your metabolism regulates how fast you burn calories, so green tea can lead to weight loss. Green tea also contains, a stimulant used in many diet pills, but it’s all natural.

Being a Nutritionist, I’ve found that sometimes nutrition can sometimes be difficult when you’re on a diet. Your limited calorie budget can make it hard to eat all the vitamins and minerals you need. Often high in calories, a nutrition or meal replacement shake can deliver the things your body needs quickly and efficiently, often in fewer calories than you would need to get the same benefit by eating food. Finding the right protein can be found with the help of a Nutritionist and/or Professional Personal Trainer.

6 Foods That Fight Heart Disease

6 Foods That Fight Heart Disease
Keeping your heart in tiptop shape doesn't necessarily mean popping a cholesterol-lowering statin tablet each day. One strategy, I’ve found that works as an alternative is eating foods that have been proven to fight heart disease; they are prescription-free and delicious, and can keep your heart healthy without risky side effects.

Chocolate:
Many studies today have found that heart attack survivors who ate chocolate two or more times a week slashed their risk of dying from heart disease by threefold. German researchers have also found that eating only one square of dark chocolate a week lowered the risk of heart attack and stroke by 39 percent. Other studies have also found that chocolate lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow. The high levels of antioxidants in chocolate seem to be the most likely candidates for chocolate's heart-healthy benefits.

High Cocoa Content Makes Dark Chocolate Healthy
Why does the cocoa content have to be so high? Because most of the healthy chocolate antioxidants in cocoa beans are destroyed by traditional processing methods. They're bitter, so they're fermented, roasted, and processed out. Who knew? These methods were developed to enhance taste not nutrition.

So how much cocoa do you need? You need a high cocoa content of at least 70% to make up for the loss. More cocoa means more beneficial chocolate antioxidants are likely to be in the bar or product.

             More Chocolate Antioxidants Retained

But what if you don't enjoy chocolate that dark (70% cocoa or more)? Maybe the new ways to process cocoa developed by Mars (Dove®), Barry Callebaut, and Natraceutical will let you enjoy chocolate with benefits.

These methods retain more of the antioxidants found in the cocoa bean. That should mean less cocoa needed and a milder flavor, right? But it's going to cost you more. Remember you can't put a price on good health, that's your insurance company's job.

All you really need to remember is that dark chocolate is healthy when it contains lots of cocoa. A bar with very little is just candy. So pick a product with a cocoa content of at least 70%, rich in flavor and flavonoids. A truly rare combination!

Alcohol.

Evidence is mounting that moderate drinking helps reduce the risk of heart disease. (Lol, let me expound on that a bit….Moderate drinking is defined as three to seven drinks each week for women and three to fourteen drinks weekly for men.) A recent study found that moderate drinking lowered the risk of cardiovascular death by 38 percent. Light drinkers (men or women who had three or fewer drinks a week) lowered their risk by 31 percent. However, this does include mixed drinks.

Fish
Fatty fish, such as salmon, sardines, and mackerel, contain omega-3 fatty acids, which studies have shown decrease the risk of abnormal heartbeats. They also lower blood pressure, decrease triglyceride levels, and slow the growth of atherosclerotic plaque. A recent study from the University of Athens in Greece found that eating fish once or twice a week helps preserve heart function in those patients who suffer from heart failure. The American Heart Association recommends eating at least two servings of fatty fish each week.

Tea
A British study found that drinking one cup of tea each day could cut the risk of heart attack almost in half. In addition, a Greek study found that green tea dilated arteries in the heart and allowed blood to flow more freely, which may help protect from blood clots. But skip the milk: A German study found that although tea without milk prevents cardiovascular disease, adding milk counteracts the heart-healthy benefits.

Nuts
Many studies have shown that nuts lower LDL ("bad") cholesterol, reduce the risk of developing blood clots, and improve the lining of arteries. Almost every type of nut is healthy, says the Mayo Clinic, but walnuts have been studied many times and have been found to contain high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids. A daily handful of almonds, pecans, hazelnuts, or macadamia nuts are also healthy, “ONLY” a handful.

Cranberries

Researcher’s at the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania found that drinking three glasses of cranberry juice daily for a month significantly raised HDL ("good") cholesterol by 10 percent and lowered the risk of heart disease by 40 percent. Cranberries may even help those with genes for high cholesterol.

America's Health Crisis NOT at it's Best!

Almost everybody knows modern America is in the midst of an all-you-can eat food fest that ha us literally busting at the seams. We are eating ourselves into sickness and premature death, but we also have a serious health care crisis with upward spiraling medical care costs. This type of thinking is affecting our children and the future of our country. It is weighing down our economy, sending many of our jobs overseas and pulling our nation into an economic downspin that will be almost impossible to recover from.

The economic costs of heart disease and other diet-related chronic diseases are staggering. Health care cost has increased over 70% since 2005 and our nation's medical costs now exceeds 5 trillion, over 6 times the amount spent on national defense. Though my blogs are normally health related and I can't help but mention about the business side of our economy, (in my opinion). These out-of-control costs play an important role in business failures, bankruptcies and loss of jobs. More than 50% of defaults on mortgages and rentals are the result of medical debt. We also have a major epidemic with "the changing faces" of the homeless. Well, that’s enough of my observations on that.

The Obesity Epidemic

Nutritionally-caused disease is now the largest of death throughout the world and for the first time globally the number of overweight individuals rivals the number of those who are underweight. Over the recent years, the growth of processed foods, convenience foods and fast foods has supplied high calorie foods with little nutrients to feed a relatively sedentary society.

In all regions, obesity appears to escalate as many incomes decrease or stay the same. Nowhere has the problem become larger than it is in American where we have the largest waistline in the world. In the United States, being overweight is now considered as the norm and almost all adults eventually get put on medications for their heart, diabetes, cholesterol or blood pressure. The number of obese Americans is higher than those who smoke. We now see less commercials banning smoking, use of illegal drugs or sufferings from other physical ailments. Obesity is a major risk factor associated with highly prevalent and serious diseases, such as heart disease (the #1 killer of women, killing 43% more African American Women than any other race), cancer and diabetes and the diet-style that creates these diseases fuel our out-of-control medical costs.

The average woman in America today weighs 50 pounds more than women did 80 years ago and has a considerably higher rate of heart attacks, strokes and breast cancer to show for it. The rate of sudden cardiac death for the average American male has quadrupled in the past 70 years, and his risk of heart attack is ten time higher. Both sexes, on average, are 30 pounds heavier today than they were in the 1970’s. But it not just about weight, the problems are much bigger.

hCG the Science that Works

hCG is a natural, quick-absorbing hormone that triggers the hopthalamus to release and mobilize abnormal (extra) excessive fat you are carrying for your body to use as an energy, or "food" source.

There are Three major benefits from the release of this abnormal fat:
- You will lose weight (up to 1 to 3 pounds daily)
- Your stored fat will help support your daily caloric needs
- You will burn fat from areas that are typically hard to reduce

hCG Homeopathic formula is taken orally, under the tongue and does not negatively affect the normal  (healthy) fat or muscle tissue.

The Master Cleanse by Stanley Burroughs

The Master Cleanse has been around for years. Its value and benefits goes beyond words. As long as it’s been around I’ve never tried it until recently. I must tell you how important it was for me and my destiny.

The Blessing

I can’t imagine putting anything in my mount before asking The Heavenly Father’s Blessing. Though asking God’s blessing over a meal before consuming it has been accepted as routine, for me it’s a necessity. With so much going on in the world, if I’m separated, I must also separate my meal.

Asking God for wisdom on making proper selections of more complete foods as we go shopping for what is deemed to advance our physical and our spiritual needs is vital. It’s amazing how as we get older in age, maturity in wisdom is not always prevalent. Now most time we know better, but we just don’t do better. “Why?”

Mr. Stanley says “Better to ask God to give us Knowledge to keep our bodies strong and healthy so we have no need to ask Him to heal a sick and ailing body that we produced ourselves by not originally obeying His simple laws. Blame not God for the many illnesses and diseases that are affecting our country, (youth and adults alike). Better that you ask God for His blessings and forgiveness – and to give strength and wisdom to properly apply the knowledge of His simple laws.”

How the hCG Diet can Help Diabetes

How the HCG Diet can Help Diabetes

The HCG diet has proven to help many people shed excess weight and live healthier, happier lives overall. The diet program has also proven to be extremely beneficial to individuals with certain pre-existing health conditions and problems. It turns out that the program is even helpful to people with diabetes who are looking for a way to lose weight and still manage their health.

Is It Right For You?

What type of diabetes you have, and the extent of the problem, determines whether the HCG diet program will be good for you. There are two different types of diabetes: Type 1 diabetes and Type 2 diabetes. While both types can benefit from the program, people with Type 2 diabetes will benefit greater than those with Type 1.

Type 2 Diabetes

People with Type 2 diabetes will have bigger benefits from the HCG diet program because they are not insulin dependent. This is the most common form of diabetes and excessive, abnormal fat is often a big contributing factor. Because of this, most people with Type 2 diabetes are encouraged to embark on a weight loss management program anyway as a way to help get the problem under control. After discussing the plan with a physician, you can start the HCG diet which will see the extra pounds begin to drop off immediately. This results in better blood pressure levels, improved blood sugar in the body and less strain on the heart. You will begin to see these positive results in a matter of days, with the stabilization of glucose in the body dropping to normal levels within weeks.

Pre-Diabetic

If you are pre-diabetic, you will absolutely benefit from the HCG diet program as well. In addition to shedding excess weight which is a huge contributing factor in Type 2 diabetes, you will also be eating much healthier foods. Part of the diet plan involves restricting your carbohydrates and eliminating sugar all together. By losing weight and eating better, you will lower the blood sugar in your body and prevent you from developing long term health problems.

Getting Started

Whether you are pre-diabetic, have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, you will benefit from the HCG diet program. The combination of weight loss and healthy eating habits will help to improve your health dramatically. Just as with any diet or fitness program, be sure to consult your physician first. If you are taking any medication, be sure to discuss how it will affect your diet and whether or not you can reduce the amount once you start to see the positive effects of the diet.

While as a diabetic you may be used to injections, we recommend HCG oral drops because of these advantages.

hCG Diet and Alcohol

Many people who are interested in the HCG diet program want to know whether or not alcohol can be consumed while participating in the diet. While it is not recommended or advised to consume alcohol while on the diet, it does not have to be completely thrown out. In fact, some people have found the HCG diet to be extremely successful even with the occasional alcoholic beverage being consumed.

Reasons To Avoid Alcohol

The reason why alcohol should be avoided is because it is basically just empty calories. When you are on the HCG diet whether injections or hcg oral drops, your daily caloric intake is drastically reduced, making it that much more important to consume foods that are healthy for the body.

Alcohol can:

• Slow down weight loss.

• Contain empty calories.

• Contain an overload of sugar, especially when consumed with soda and other high-calorie mixers.

• Essentially ruin the weight loss from the HCG formula.

The good thing about the HCG diet is that it has been shown to reduce alcohol cravings in regular social drinkers. This is because HCG interacts directly with the hypothalamus. It helps control the area of the brain responsible for eating and drinking. So not only does it curb your food cravings, but also your craving for alcoholic beverages. This helps you keep your consumption of alcohol to a minimum so that you can achieve the most from your diet.

Alcohol Options

If you must have a drink, there are a couple options. The first is to have an orange juice and vodka. To reduce your calories to a minimum when having a drink, you might try having a vodka and soda water with a squeeze of lemon. Remember that this should still only be consumed on occasion and in moderation. Even if you do have a drink or two, do not feel like you have ruined your diet. It seems that a single drink does not tend to have a lasting effect on the overall weight loss of the dieter.

Once you are finished with the diet, you will be allowed to incorporate small amounts of alcohol back into your lifestyle. For example, you can have a single glass of red wine with your meal to take advantage of the various health benefits of wine. Remember that as a general rule, it’s best to stay away from most forms of alcohol in order to maintain your new, healthy weight in the long run. You’ll feel much better for it, and will notice the cravings diminish overtime.

What to Eat While on the HCG Diet

The hCG diet is something that most people look into trying since it does produce weight loss results. However, many people wonder just what can you eat while on the hCG diet. There are numerous options of what you can eat, however, you must keep in mind that the idea is to only eat 500 calories a day in conjunction with the hCG hormone shot that those people on the diet take.

For breakfast, there are no real foods that you eat. However, you can have 1 cup cereal (Total, Special K, Cheerios) with ½ cup fat free milk or 1 boiled egg with 1 slice Ezekiel Bread or the egg can be 1 cup scrambled egg white. You should focus on drinking coffees and caffeine free green tea. You may have 1 cup a day. Most professionals point out that drinking organic coffees and teas are the best way to go. You may add 1 teaspoon of saccharin. This means that no regular sugar or cream should be added to the coffee, and no regular sugars to the tea. You can also substitute 1 teaspoon of maple syrup to the tea instead of sugar. This is why getting naturally flavored coffees and teas are the best way to go so you can have some flavor in the morning.

For lunch and dinner, your meal will consist of proteins and vegetables. Protein wise, you will want to eat only those meats that are cut lean such as beef or veal. Or you can eat chicken that has the skin removed. You can also choose fish to eat that is low in mercury. Vegetable wise, you can choose from spinach, cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes or celery. The important thing to remember about these vegetables is that you do not want to fry or cook this with some type of oil. Instead, steam, boil or grill these vegetables. You can also choose to eat them raw, however, most prefer to cook them. IN addition, you are only allowed one vegetables with the protein of your choice.

You also have a few fruits to choose from that you can add to your lunch or dinner. For example, a small apple, grapefruit or strawberries can be added to the meal in order to make it more filling.

When choosing what to eat for lunch and dinner be sure to choose a different protein and vegetables for each meal that way you are getting a different source of protein with each meal. If you find that you are still hungry throughout the day, then drink plenty of water. In fact, you should continuously drink water in order to curb your appetite.

According to Dr. Simeons manuscripts, “Pounds and Inches” – showing the original 500 calorie a day diet, your day should look like this:

Breakfast:

1. Tea or Coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoon of milk allowed in 24 hrs. Saccharin or Stevia may be used as a sweetener.

Lunch:

1. 5 ounces of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, turkey or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. The chicken breast must be removed from the bird.

2. One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: Spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.

3. One Ezekiel bread or one Melba toast.

4. An apple, orange, or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit.

Dinner:

1. The same four choices as lunch (above).

HCG Diet Precautions

The hCG Diet that was created by Dr. Simeons back in the 1950s has been enjoying a new spell of popularity thanks to a nod from Kevin Trudeau. In his diet book, Mr. Trudeau talks of the benefit of using HCG and organic foods to promote healthy weight loss. While this might be true, there are many skeptics of the approach.

Dr. Simeons researched for many years into the causes and potential treatments of obesity. While it was originally thought that overweight and obese people were fat because of overeating or not being disciplined enough when it came to restricting calories. Dr. Simeons’ research led him to conclude that some medical conditions actually changed a mechanism in the body that regulates food storage. When some people started a calorie-restricted diet, they would actually gain weight as their bodies viewed the calorie restriction as starvation and began to turn all intake of food into fat storage for the “famine” the body thought it was experiencing.

Using hCG, or human chorionic gonadatropin, patients were able to follow a very restricted calorie diet and lose a great deal of weight. Dr. Simeons felt as though he had created an obesity cure and many doctors of the time agreed. Today there is a renewed interest that is again drawing critics to this method of weight loss.

The critics of the hCG diet say that hCG is dangerous and should not be used by anyone to lose weight or for any other reason. Dangers sited include nausea, pain and headaches. Vomiting and fatigue has also been reported. The Food and Drug Administration have not approved hCG usage and so the results that are often reported are deemed by some to be completely fabricated. Odd symptoms of depression and weight gain are not unheard of, which fly in the face of what the proponents of hCG therapy claim.

Is there any truth to the claims of hCG being unsafe? Perhaps there are a few risks, but honestly, most of them are only going to happen when there is an over usage of the hCG. When taken as prescribed, hCG supplements accompanying a healthy diet plan of restricted calories is helpful in most patients. Clinical research has been carried out in many different clinics and has been proven as safe as or even safer than any of the over-the-counter weight loss methods available in your local drug store. Before starting any weight loss system, check with your doctor.

Glossary

HCG – human chorionic gonadotropin.

Structured Fat – Found between joints and organs.

Normal Fat – Located throughout the body; Used to meet your bodies nutritional needs.

Abnormal Fat – Deposits that cause obesity; Only drawn upon during starvation and/or pregnancy.

placenta – The after-birth. In women, a large and highly complex organ through which the child in the womb receives its nourishment from the mother’s body. It is the organ in which HCG is manufactured and then given off into the mother’s blood.

Pounds and Inches: A NEW APPROACH TO OBESITY – a manuscript written by Dr. A.T.W. SIMEONS.

Pituitary Gland – the main endocrine gland. It is a small structure in the head. It is called the master gland because it produces hormones that control other glands and many body functions including growth. The pituitary consists of the anterior and posterior pituitary.

Normal Saline – low concentration of salt in water equal to the salinity of body fluids.

Calorie – A unit of energy-producing potential equal to this amount of heat that is contained in food and released upon oxidation by the body.

Congenital – of or pertaining to a condition present at birth, whether inherited or caused by the environment, esp. the uterine environment.

Cholesterol – is a waxy steroid metabolite found in the cell membranes and transported in the blood plasma of all animals. It is essential structural component of mammalian cell membranes, where it is required to establish proper membrane permeability and fluidity in addition, cholesterol is an important component for the manufacture of bile acids, steroid hormones, and fat- soluble vitamins including Vitamin A, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, and Vitamin K.

Assimilate – Absorb digested food from the intestines.

Adrenals – of or produced by the adrenal glands.

Ndocrine – We distinguish endocrine and exocrine glands. The former produce hormones, chemical regulators, which they secrete directly into the blood circulation in the gland and from where they are carried all over the body. Examples: of endocrine glands are the pituitary, the thyroid and the adrenals. Exocrine glands produce a visible secretion such as saliva, sweat, urine. There are also glands which are endocrine and exocrine. Examples are the testicles, the prostate and the pancreas, which produces the hormone insulin and digestive ferments which flow from the gland into the intestinal tract. Endocrine glands are closely inter-dependent of each other, they are linked to the autonomous nervous system and the diencephalon presides over this whole incredibly complex regulatory system.

Cortex – Outer covering or rind. The term is applied to the outer part of the adrenals but is also used to describe the gray matter which covers the white matter of the brain.

Cortisone – A synthetic substance which acts like an adrenal hormone. It is today used in the treatment of a large number of illnesses, and several chemical variants have been produced, among which are prednisone and triamcinolone

Chorionic – Of the chorion, which is part of the placenta or after-birth. The term chorionic is justly applied to HCG, as this hormone is exclusively produced in the placenta, from where it enters the human mother’s blood and is later excreted in her urine.

Just For Women: The Anti-Breast Cancer Vitamin You Need to Take Everday

Ladies, it's obvious that our bodies are much different from men. Our lives are way different as well. Have you been to the health store lately? There are thousands of brands and formulas to choose from. As they all sound great. But which vitamins and supplements really work? Which are backed by solid, scientific research? And most important:: Which vitamins are safe for your body?

Here are a few suggestions:
The Anti-Breast Cancer Vitamin You Should Take Everday
Is there anything most women fear is being told "they have cancer". But the good news is that some key habits can help keep cancer at bay. And one of the most important vitamins your body needs to block breast cancer is the vitamin D.

Studies of the American Society of Clinical Oncologist reported that breast cancer patients who were deficient in vitamin D were 94% more likely to have their cancer spread than women with adequate D levels.

Sure, breast cancer probably scares the heck out of most women. But actually "heart disease" now that's a great danger for women! So now listen ladies, the number one nutrient you need for a healthy heart is omega-3 fatty acids. Thes can help lower triglycerides and artery-clogging plaque.

The energy vitamin every women needs. It's iron, and it's NOT just for women with anemia. A study reported in a British Medical Journal found that iron helps improve the brain chemistry that keeps your energy levels UP all day.

The ultimate immunity booster. Who has times for viruses? No woman I know! So why not magnify your immunity so viruses don't have a chance? All you need is.........vitamin C! Destress you life with more vitamin C! Higher doses of ordinary vitamin C actually help block the stress hormones that can make your life miserable. Also, as a added bonus Vitamin C helps lower blood pressure!

The "happiness pill" for women.......laugh more. Just because you get older, maturer, some even wiser doesn't mean you should stop laughing. You should always consider this before turning to prescripton drugs and some friend(s) you really trust. It's safe and medically proven.

Outrageous Orange Cupcakes

Here is a recipe bursting with flavor and less than 150 calories, icing and all!

• Butter-flavored cooking spray

• 1 cup whole-grain oat soda

• 3/4 teaspoon baking soda

• 1/4 teaspoon baking-powder

• 3 large egg whites

• ½ cup fat-free, fruit juice-sweetened vanilla yogurt

• ¼ cup agave nectar

• 2 tablespoons orange

• 2 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

• ½ tablespoon orange extract

• 2 cups, “Cut The Crap Whipped Topping,” divided

• 2 teaspoons freshly grated orange zest, divided

Preheat the over to 350 degrees. Line 8 cups of a standard, nonstick muffin tin with foil cupcake liners, (see note.) Lightly mist them with spray.

Add the flour to the bowl of a food processor or mini-food processor fitted with a chopping blade. Process it for 2 minutes.

Place a sifter over a small mixing bowl. Add the flour mixture, baking soda, baking power and salt. Sift them into the bowl. Set the mixture aside.

In a medium mixing bowl, using a sturdy whisk (or a spatula if you don’t have one), mix the egg whites, yogurt, agave, juice concentrate, butter and extracts until well combined. Stir in the flour mixture until just combined. Then stir in the orange peel. Divide the batter among the prepared cups, filling each cup about two-thirds full. Bake the cupcakes for 19 to 22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry (a few crumbs are okay). Let them cool completely then divide the whipped topping among them, about ¼ cup on each, spreading it evenly over the tops. Sprinkle the tops evenly with the orange zest, about ¼ teaspoon on each.

GET NUTTY For Your Heart!

Believe it or not, but your heart loves nuts! Pecans, pistachios and pine nuts all help keep the heart healthy and strong. Dr. Walter C., author of Eat, Drink, and Be Healthy: The Harvard Medical School Guide to Healthy Eating explains why the heart and nuts have such a good relationship. Nuts are full of saturated fats that reduce LDL cholesterol while keeping HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol) levels elevated. These good fats are monounsaturated and polyunsaturated.

They are important to the body and the hart because they assist in cell membrane and hormone production. They help reduce inflammation, and that helps lower the risk of heart disease and stroke.

Several studies have shown that people who eat nuts regularly have 30 to 50% less risk of having a heart attack or heart disease. Nuts also contain arginine, vitamin E, folic acid, potassium and fiber, which contribute to heart health.

Are you hungry for nuts yet? Don’t go overboard though: They are also packed with calories. Dr. Willett also warns that eating a handful of nuts in addition to (instead of replacing) your normal food choices may mean a 10 to 20-pound weight gain over a year’s time. This extra weight could also be damaging to the heart. So, replace some of your unhealthy choices like chips and ice cream with nuts. Also consider incorporating nuts in your meals. A few sprinkled in a salad or added to a chicken or fish dish will boost the flavor of your food as well as the health of your heart.

Here are some suggestions:

1.) Sprinkle a handful of slivered almonds on your favorite breakfast cereal.

2.) Munch on cashews for an appetizer instead of cheese.

3.) Enjoy a peanut butter and honey sandwich for lunch.

4.) Sprinkle your favorite nuts on a salad.

5.) Eat low-fat yogurt with a nut topping for dessert.

Not sure which nuts to choose? There a wide variety of nuts. Walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, pine nuts, pistachios are always great choices.

One snack favorite, the peanut, is not really a nut at all. Peanuts are actually in the legume family, but have many of the same heart-healthy attributes as certified nuts. With 7 grams of monounsaturated fats and 4.5 grams of polyunsaturated fats per one-ounce serving, peanuts also help the heart by reducing bad LDL cholesterol and keeping good HDL cholesterol levels high (The Peanut Institute.) This makes reasonable serving sizes of peanuts and peanut butter a good choice for your daily diet. Be good to your heart and start eating nuts today!

hCG Diet Drops, can it be the Answer?

Can HCG Diet Drops Be The Safe, Effective, “Lose-The-Weight-And-Keep-It-Off” Answer You’ve Been Searching For?

Tough to believe? Our research shows that even the most popular and expensive weight loss treatments have a success rate of less than 10% with consumers. Surgical procedures are known to have much higher success rates, but they are also very expensive and come with some alarming side effects.

The good news is that HCG diet drops have been proven to be the answer to rapid weight loss with ZERO side effects. Often patients on the HCG diet protocol drop a pound a day with little or no exercise.

But as a word of warning, not all HCG drops are created equal. Many are nothing more than alcohol and water. Thats where we come in. At HCGDrops.com we have found the best of the best when it comes to HCG supplements. After testing dozens of supplements, we found that many HCG drops don’t work at all. Some are just OK in quality and effectiveness. But one was amazing and kept us, and our readers also, completely stunned.

Understanding Body Fat and why hCG!

Here is how it works. You first have to understand that there are three types of fat in your body:

Structured Fat – Found between joints and organs

Normal Fat – Located throughout the body; Used to meet your bodies nutritional needs

Abnormal Fat – Deposits that cause obesity; Only drawn upon during starvation and/or pregnancy

By restricting your caloric intake the body can only draw upon the structural and normal fat reserves, leaving the abnormal fat untouched. This is why most diets don’t work. They only cause you to lose muscle or water weight. With Easy HCG, your hypothalamus first works on the abnormal fat causing your body to burn thousands of calories a day.

Positives: Here are some reasons we chose Easy HCG

Safe for men and woman. Many couples or family members choose to go on this diet together

Easy HCG is manufactured by an FDA approved facility with the highest of quality control standards. Helps reduce fat in areas that are difficult to lose fat, where even the strictest diet and exercise routines aren’t effective. Quick weight loss so you don’t have to struggle with a diet for months on end. In fact, if you are just trying to lose 15-20 pounds, the entire diet can be completed within 30 days.

You’ll have more energy so you can live life to the fullest instead of crashing daily on the couch gaining even more weight.

You’ll be able to sleep better with your new found health

No need to exercise, it’s optional! No more agonizing crunches, or need to train for that marathon…unless of course you want to for the fun of it. It’s definitely not part of the diet though

Don’t feel deprived of food which is one of the reasons this HCG diet is a snap

HCG is an all-natural substance. It has ZERO side effects because it is made naturally in the body

Regular intake of HCG drops strengthens your immune system

Helps create long lasting results

Negatives: Just like every HCG diet out there, you need to drastically lower the number of calories you consume in order to get the best results from Easy HCG. If you are only mildly interested in losing weight, you may not be able to stick to the diet. However, we’ve seen only short of miraculous results from those who stick to it. Those who take the drops as recommended and stick to the diet lose massive amounts of weight, in a short period of time.

Guarantee: Easy HCG offers a 30 day no questions asked money-back guarantee allowing you to try them out, Risk Free. These guys are extremely confident that their product and customer service will win you over!

How To Lose Fat and Build Muscle

How To Lose Fat and Build Muscle

The biggest muscle building mistake you can make is doing routines from muscle magazines. Most of those guys don’t train naturally, are genetically gifted and never started training that way. Doing their routines won’t make you build muscle fast. The average person needs a different approach. One that builds muscle fast and prevents physical & mental overtraining from doing too much, too soon. Here’s how to build muscle: the definitive guide to building muscle.

1. Get Stronger. More strength is more muscle. Get into strength training. I recommend weight training because it allows you to start light and add weight endlessly. Body-weight exercises work too. Start with an empty bar. Learn proper technique. Add weight each workout to keep pushing your body out of comfort zone.

2. Use Free Weights. Yes, Ladies it’s okay to use the free weights. They are not just for Men anymore. You can lift the heaviest weights using barbells. More weight is more stress, thus more muscle. Dumbbells are great for assistance exercises, but not for your main lifts. Stay away from machines.

• Safe. Machines force you into fixed, unnatural movement patterns which if not used properly, can cause injuries. Free weights replicate natural motions.

• Efficient. Free weights force you to control and balance the weight. This builds more muscle than machines, which balance the weight for you.

• Functional. Strength built on machines doesn’t transfer to free weights or real life. No machine balances the weight for you in real life.

• Versatile. You can do hundreds of exercises with just 1 barbell. Saves a lot of money and space, especially if you want to build a home gym.

3. Do Compound Exercises. Isolation exercises are ok once you’ve built base strength & muscle mass. But if you’re starting to build muscle, exercises that hit several muscles at the same time are better.

• No endless Biceps Curls – Instead do Pull-ups, Chin-ups & Barbell Rows

• Also no Triceps Kickbacks – Instead do Bench Press, Overhead Press, Dips

• And definitely no Leg Extensions – Instead do Squats & Deadlifts

4. Train Your Legs. Squats work your whole body they’re the most important exercise. You’ll look totally different once you can Squat 45lbs or 300lbs. That’s a free weight Squat with hips coming lower than knees. All your muscles tense when doing Squats & Deadlifts. They work your body as 1 piece and let you lift heavy weights. Don’t lose time with Biceps Curls. When you can Squat & Deadlift heavy weights, you’ll have bigger arms.

5. Do Full Body Workouts. Don’t do those muscle magazine workouts unless you fully know how to engage the exercise. Body part splits with isolation exercises is fine once you’ve built a foundation. That’s once you can Squat 300lbs. You can’t Squat that much or never did Squats? Check StrongLifts 5×5. It takes 3 workouts per week of about 1hour each and includes compound exercises like Squats, Deadlifts, Bench Press, Barbell Rows, Overhead Press, Pull-ups, Push-Ups, Dips, etc.

6 Get Recovery. Pro athletes workout 5-6 times per week. But they didn’t start that way. They added workouts as they got stronger & bigger. You’ll overtrain if you jump into their routines. As a beginner you need more recovery.

• Rest. Muscles grow when you rest, not when you workout. Start with 3 full body workouts per week and focus on intensity, not gym time.

• Sleep. Growth hormone releases when you sleep, building muscle. Aim for 8 hours sleep. Nap post workout if your lifestyle allows.

• Drink Water. Avoids dehydration and helps muscle recovery. Drink 2 cups water with each meal, and sip water during your workout.

• Eat. “Eat like a horse. Sleep like a baby. Grow like a weed”. Your training is useless if you don’t eat enough calories for recovery.

7. Eat Whole Foods. You’ll achieve a lower body fat, so the muscles you’ve built show better. And the vitamin & mineral content helps recovery. Stop eating food coming from a box. Eat whole foods 90% of the time. Check my StrongLifts Diet.

• Proteins. Meat, poultry, fish, eggs, milk, …

• Carbs. Brown rice, oats, whole grain pasta, quinoa, …

• Veggies. Spinach, broccoli, tomato, salad, carrot, …

• Fruits. Banana, orange, apple, pineapple, peers, …

• Fats. Olive oil, fish oil, real butter, nuts, flax seeds, …

8. Eat More. Training is more or just as important than diet for muscle building. But you do need to give your body the food it needs for optimal recovery. Most guys don’t eat enough, you got to eat more to build muscle.

• Eat Breakfast. Get calories from the first hour. Read how to build the habit of eating breakfast. Try these 7 breakfast recipes.

• Eat Post Workout. Get proteins and carbs post workout to help muscle recovery and replenish your energy stores.

• Eat Every 3 Hours. 6 meals/day. Gives your muscles a steady intake of protein, speeds up muscle repair & recovery, boosts your metabolism.

• Eat BW in lbs x 18kcal. Track your daily calorie intake using a planner. You need at least your body-weight in lbs x 18kcal to maintain weight.

9. Gain Weight. You’ll never look muscular weighing 140lbs at 6″. No matter how much training you do. Here’s the most important part.

• Eat Calorie Dense Foods. 100g raw spinach is 25kcals. But 100g raw rice is 380kcals. Eat pasta, oats, olive oil, mixed nuts, etc.

• Get Stronger. Increase your Squat to at least 300lbs. Muscle size is directly related with strength gains. You got to get stronger to build muscle.

• Drink Whole Milk. If you don’t bother gaining some fat, drink 1 gallon whole milk daily on top of your current food intake. You can gain 25lbs in 1 month if you combine this with 3 weekly Squat sessions.

10. Get Protein. Proteins have the highest thermic effect. You need 1g protein per pound of body-weight daily to build & maintain muscle. That’s 160g of daily protein if you weigh 160lbs/72kg. Eat whole proteins with each meal.

• Red Meat. Ground round, steaks, deer, buffalo, …

• Poultry. Chicken breast, whole chicken, turkey, duck, …

• Fish. Tuna, salmon, sardines, mackerel, …

• Eggs. Eat the yolk, it’s full of vitamins.

• Dairy. Milk, cottage cheese, quark cheese, yogurt, whey, …

If you weigh 160lbs: 1 can of tuna at lunch, 300g quark as snack, 300g meat at dinner and 500ml milk through the day gets you 160g protein. Read also how to get your daily protein when you’re a vegeterian/vegan.

Women "DO" belong in the weight room!

Age: Big Girl  Height 5'2" Weight before: 148 lb Weight now: 125 lb Location: Houston, Tx. Occupation: Entreprenuer Favorite move: Pull Ups Favorite Movie: Baps, Avatar Best Compliments: Nice Legs

The first time in entered into the gym all I knew to do was to do was stayed around where the cardio machines were. I was very intimidated by the buff men, and afraid of “looking like a fool”, so I stuck to the training methods I knew best. I couldn’t go wrong as long as the machine I followed had a picture that gave me directions. Except it wasn’t working for me, as I believe it’s not working for most women who enter the gym. After turning 40, I noticed my metabolism slowed and I started gaining weight. Weight is not always noticeable at first. Sometimes the weight just sort of creep up on you and that’s because it hides in one of the storage areas. I felt like I was spinning out of control. It then I knew I needed to build up confidence.

Making a Go for it
I decided to hire a personal trainer to walk me through the proper strength training moves and forms. I knew that moving over the free weight area meant changing my mindset. “I told myself I wasn’t going to have to act as if I was the only person over there in order for me to do this. So I had to have my ear phones on, give no eye contact, concentrate on what I was doing and not be concerned about what was going on around me.” I said “I have a right to be here using the dumbbells as well.” Now with my routine in tow, I was able to stick to my workouts, knowing I had a plan to guide me through my session. The day I was finally able to perform 10 pull-ups by myself, I knew I’d made a lasting change.

Forming New Habits
Shaking p my meals was more challenging. I was used to dieting and skipping breakfasts and dinners, only to dive into my hidden stash of chips. “My biggest obstacle was overcoming a sugar addiction.” Once my trainer introduced me to clean eating, I tapped into the power of words to kick the cravings. “I had to tell myself that I like the way I’m beginning to look than I like cajetas. “Saying it aloud helped me push myself.” Soon I begin to drop even more services.

Finding My Place
Now 10 years later, with my first time in my life I can honestly say “I love my body.” I attribute it to determination, perseverance, commitment and lifestyle change. I continue to challenge my body and push through my workout routine. “As for the buff guys that are in the weight room,

My Research of Clinical Studies on the hCG Diet

As you research the hCG Diet, you will find information on both sides of the issue regarding whether or not the hCG Diet works or if it's no more effective than a placebo. There have been numerous placebo-controlled, double-blind studies done over the years. Some of these studies concluded hCG does NOT work better than a placebo for weight loss when following a VLCD (Very Low Calorie Diet) as prescribed by Dr. Simeons in his 'Pounds and Inches' manuscript.

Other studies, however, concluded that YES, the hCG Protocol does in fact significantly affect fat loss as Dr. Simeons found in his years of administering the protocol to thousands of patients. It should be noted that ALL except one of these studies were conducted before 1991. Only one study has been performed in the past 18+ years, and that study concluded that the hCG Protocol works. Though hCG is a fad today, it has been around for centuries. It was first done throug injections.

Doctors W.L. Asher, MD & Harold W. Harper, MD published their study, in the The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 1973. From the Summary of the Asher & Harper study:

"The hCG group lost significantly more mean weight, had a significantly greater mean weight loss per injection, and lost a significantly greater mean percentage of their starting weight. The percentage of affirmative daily patient responses indicating "little or no hunger" and "feeling good to excellent" was significantly greater in the hCG group than in the placebo group. Additional investigation of the influence of hCG on weight loss, hunger, and well-being seems indicated."

A more recent placebo-controlled, double-blind study was conducted using an Oral formulation of hCG by Dr. Daniel Oscar Belluscio, M.D., Dr. Leonor Ripamonte, M.D and Dr. Marcelo Wolansky Ph.D:
This study concluded:

1) Female obese volunteers participating in a double blind study, and submitted to the administration of an oral presentation of hCG plus a VLCD, decreased specific body circumferences and skinfold thickness from conspicuous body areas more efficiently than Placebo+VLCD -treated subjects. Since a significant fat proportion from total body fat is subcutaneously located (50 to 65 percent, depending on sex and fat distribution), this hCG metabolic activity would result in a reduction of the total body fat mass, the main cause for obesity. We suggested that the combination of a VLCD and oral hCG could not only trigger clinically significant changes in subcutaneous fat stores but simultaneously decrease body weight and modelate body contour.

2) hCG oral administration proved to be a safe and effective procedure on obese treated volunteers. No side effects were observed in the course of the study. There are no reports in the literature regarding this administration route to compare our findings.

3) Compared to placebo treated subjects, volunteers managed with an oral administration of hCG coped more efficiently with daily irritating situations, were in a better mood, and handled home conflicts without stepping up family discussions. This study appears to contradict former conclusions on the issue of hCG and obesity. We attribute those differences to a different approach, including variables not assessed in former publications. Angel'a Goals Setting Tips

1. Write it down. Goals must be specific, measureable and attainable. Instead of saying, "I want to lose weight," write it down as "I want to lose 10 pounds by June 1, 2011." This forces you to be accountable.

2. Break a big goal into mini goals. Over time, these mini goals will become part of your life. Once you achieve the first one, incorporate the second one, then the third and so on. Don't try to complete them all at once. Most likely you'll get overwhelmed and will have trouble reaching any.

3. Believe inn yourself and stay committed. Don't let others persuade otherwise. There's a saying that nothing worthwhile is every easy. While that may not always be true, it certainly applies when it comes to changing your physique, or your life, for the better.

4. If you fall off the wagon, don't give up! Take a step back. Regroup, and re-evaluate your goals and level of commitment. Stay positive, be persistent and consistent, and good things will start to happen.

5. Also, be careful who you share your goals with, sometimes friends and family can sabotage us more than help us.

The exercise most women have trouble doing correct and the best way to learn them.

Training the back is the hardest for most people because of lack of technique. They don't incorporate the eccentric contraction, the stretch in the movement. Let the weight stretch your mustcles before engating the movement. Then get a full contraction.

Do women typically have the wrong goals when they go to the gym?

Some do. I never talk about weight on a scale; I talk  more about what size you wear, because you can be a size 8 weighing 130 pounds or a size 4 weighing 130 pounds. Yep thats right. The difference would the amount of body fat each person has. Women who are slaves to the scale get discouraged. Instead of weighing yourself daily, get a pair of jeant two sizes too small. Every week try them on. As they start to fit better and better, you know you are making progress. The clue is dieting along with exercise. You can't exercise and still the old way. It will frustrate you.

Ms. Fix -It Speaks Out

If you're satisfied with the results you're getting in the gym, go ahead and skip this blog. If you’re not so pleased with the fruits of your efforts, you could probably use the wisdom Angel’a M. Jones of Houston, Texas, one of the world’s top trainers who genuinely cares about the health and well being of people. I’ve learned that from a woman’s perspective on training that are most commonly done wrong – and what we can do more effectively to attain a top body shape. But be patient, he says: “It didn’t take three weeks to get to where you are now. Don’t expect to turn things around in three weeks, either.”

Many women complain that they don’t get results from training. Are they doing something wrong? Yes. On top of the list, nutrition. You can change your activity level to address a particular problem, but without a good diet, you won’t get results. Women often don’t enough protein. If you’re going too weight train, you need to take in enough protein to support your workout.

Second, cardiovascular work sometimes becomes happy hour. If you’re carrying on an easy conversation with someone while you’re doing cardio, you’re not putting in the effort you need to. Get your heart rate up – your speech should be labored.

Third, most women don’t do enough sets. They’ll put two or more bodyparts together and perform, say, two sets on shoulders. If you’re going to effectively work your shoulders so they’re forced to rebuild and get stronger, you have to do more. You have to also work the shoulders from all angles. Focus on one bodypart a day to do this.

Happy New Year!!!! Get Fit in 2011!!

Happy New Year!, Get Fit by getting all the nutrients you need on a daily basis. Set realistic goals, however be sure they challenge you and stretch you. Would you be surprised if i told you that you need over 40 vitamins and minerals daily. Many times when friends and family see me taking all the many vitamins i need they gasp. I know and understand the importance of getting my daily recommended allowance of vitamins and minerals daily in order for my body to function at it's peak performance. With today's stress levels at an all-the-time high, toxic loads, unhealthy carbonated drinks, and poor soil quaility it appoears evident to supplement our diets if we are to have optimal health. Why keep doing the same things, with the expectation of receiving something different? Why take chances of receiving a dis-ease from one of the Top 5 Disease's affecting our country, {such as Hypertension, High Cholesterol, Diabetes, Heart Disease and Obesity}. The Journal of the American Medical Association published a report completed by two Harvard University Researchers, Fletcher and Fairfield, commenting that "Most people do not conusume an optimal amount of all vitamins by diet alone."

Living my Life like it's Golden Lifestyle, along with quality vitamin supplementation  and exercise to give my cells that extra protection is truly a powerful insurance policy worth paying for.

Here are some recommendations from LivingLifeGolden101.com There are some carefully selected raw ingeredients of the highest quality that are part of my daily recommended allowances. I've also carefully selected partners that i would highly recommend with all natural and pharmaceutical grade standards. Here's my personal line up:

CLA: A healthy fat found naturally in meat, dairy, and safflower oil. Studies have shown that CLA can be used to encourage weight loss by increasing muscle mass. Animal and test tube studies have demonstrated its anticancer properties, but these results have yet to be proven in human studies. Suggested doses are 1,000 mg one to three times daily.

CINNAMON: One of the oldest spices known to man as well as being one of the highest antioxidant containing substances on the planet. Recent studies have suggested that cinnamon has a positive effect on cholesterol as well as blood sugar levels. Healthy insulin levels are crucial for weight loss goals as well as preventing other chronic diseases such as Type II Diabetes. Cinnamon bark is a good source of manganese, fiber, iron, and calcium. Suggested doses are 2 capsules or 1,000 mg daily.

MILK THISTLE: A member of the sunflower family, and it's black seeds contain the active ingredient silymarin. It has been used in Chinese medicine for over 2000 years. Milk Thistle uniquely supports the liver's detoxification pathways and contributes to the repair and regeneration of liver cells. Supporting the liver and it's over 400 functions is progressive thinking when the focus is on weight loss and metabolizing fat. Additionally, milk thistle is a potent source of antioxidants. Milk Thistle and most herbs are not recommended for pregnant women and nursing mothers. Study doses of silymarin have ranged from 200 to 800 mg daily.

VITAMIN C: An essential daily nutrient with over 300 jobs in the body. Besides being a top-notch antioxidant protecting every cell, Vitamin C fuels the adrenal glands in times of stress and feeds the immune system as well. Because Vitamin C can lower cortisol, a stress hormone, it indirectly prevent fat storage. Other functions include collagen formation, bone health, hormone and amino acid synthesis. Because the human body does not synthesize Vitamin C, we need a steady and daily supply.

WHEY PROTEIN: A component of cow's milk and is a good source of branched-chain amino acids, which are required for the maintenance and building of muscle mass. Whey protein has also been shown to increase the body's levels of glutathione, a very important antioxidant. Our Whey Protein is sweetened with Stevia, not artificial sweeteners, and is the perfect main ingredient for an after work out smoothie or breakfast shake for those on the go. People with kidney or liver disease should check with their physician's before supplementing whey protein.

GLUTAMINE: The most abundant and metabolically active amino acid. Muscle cells have a high demand for this protein and exercise can increase the need for glutamine by up to 50%. Research has shown that glutamine promotes the maintenance of a healthy digestive tract and promotes mental alertness and memory. Other studies have shown that glutamine may boost immune function as well as decrease sugar cravings.

ACAI BERRY: Known as one of the world's "super foods". The Acai Berry is grown in the rainforest of Brazil and is used by native populations as part of their daily diet. Nutrients present in acai berries include resveratrol, anthocyanins, and glucosamine. It's deep purple color is reflective of it's strong antioxidant power. From slowing cell aging to lowering inflammation, antioxidants are crucial for health and well being.

GREEN TEA: Made from unfermented tea leaves and reportedly contains a very high concentration of powerful antioxidants called polyphenols. Research has shown a positive connection between green tea and cardiovascular disease, cholesterol reduction, cancer prevention, and weight loss. Clinical studies suggest that green tea extract may boost metabolism and help burn fat.
