Fat Burning Foods!

There will never be a diet available where you can eat as you like and still reap the benefits, however if you know what foods ‘burn fat’ then you can still eat with relative freedom from a certain selection of foods. It’s not that these foods literally burn fat but rather that you will burn more calories from eating the food than you would gain. Here is a rundown of these different foods and what other health benefits you can get from them.

Berries - There is a massive variety of berries available and they are great as a snack or even better, you can substitute sweet ingredients in food to make a healthier dish while still getting a sweet taste.
• Blackberries – Great for snacking, an average cup of blackberries contains around 80 calories making them a real treat.

• Blueberries – Offering around the same calories as blackberries but with a distinct shaper taste.

• Cranberries – Great for snacking and for using in roast meat dishes. A powerful antioxidant.

• Currants – Jam packed with vitamin C, great for using in cereal and oatmeal.

• Strawberries – Extremely low in calories, only around 50 in an average cup.

• Raspberries – Weighing in at around 60 calories per average cup perfect for a snack.

• Grapes – Offering a great variety, an average cup of grapes is only around 60 calories, and they’re delicious.

Seafood - You can’t lose with seafood, low in calories, low in fat and very healthy.
• Cod – Very tasty and filling, extremely low in fat.

• Flounder – Slightly rarer than cod but equally low in fat, try for a change of taste.

• Oysters – Literally a health buffet, oysters are packed with vitamins such as calcium, iron, zinc, vitamin C and vitamin D.

• Shrimp – Brilliant for weight loss as shrimps contain zero calories however they are fairly high in cholesterol.

• Tuna – Low in calories and low in fat, tuna is also full of omega-3 for an added health bonus.

Vegetables - Probably the most obvious choice, vegetables are great when controlling your diet in the aim to lose weight. The most beneficial choice of serving is to eat them raw or steamed.

• Asparagus – Jam packed full of vitamins A & C and even tastes fantastic raw.

• Broccoli – Full of vitamin C and high in fibre which is essential for a fluid digestive system.

• Brussels sprouts – Essentially the same benefits as broccoli but with added vitamin A. Great for the digestive system but an acquired taste.

• Cauliflower – Proven to have cancer preventing properties, cauliflower is also very fibrous and full of vitamins.

• Celery – One of the most potent fat burners, celery is multipurpose and can be eaten raw or cooked in many dishes.

• Green peppers – Full of vitamins A & C green peppers are extremely handy are you can easily grow them in your home garden.

• Kohlrabi – Very low in calories, kohlrabi can be eaten raw of lightly cooked for a different approach.

Healthy snacks - There are other healthy foods that can be eaten as snacks considering you don’t overdo it. These are great to use at weaker moments when your craving something unhealthy.

• Popcorn – Plain popcorn that is. Great because its low in calories and high in fibre.

• Nuts – Full of vitamin E and fibre, nuts have many health properties and can even help clear clogged arteries.

• Beef jerky – Low in calories and very low in fat; just make sure that you buy healthy beef jerky and not the junk food type.

• Low fat yogurt – A great snack food that tastes nice and can be used many different ways.

With these tips you should have no problems controlling what you eat and keeping it healthy, just make sure that when cooking the ingredients above don’t smother them in high calorie sauces and the like or you’re just defeating the point!

Fad Diet's Don't Work! Lifestyle Changes Does.

There is a public fascination with fad diets and the simple reason for this is that people want to lose weight fast and with minimal effort. Most people want to lose a little weight at least but many lack the willpower to even try to diet properly, do exercise and in some cases can’t even bring themselves to take on a ‘fad’ diet.

There is a vast array of ‘fad’ diets currently making the rounds, especially diets linked to celebrity’s – often used to slim down for a particular roll in a film when a deadline for filming needs to be adhered to. The fact that these ‘fad’ diets are used by celebrities immediately gets the public’s attention and gives the ‘fad’ diets an air of validity, but is this really the case?

The case of the ‘fad’ diet is a lot like the exercise regimes some actors use to gain a certain physique for a specific film role. For example take the film ‘300’ starring Gerard Butler, it is well known that the actors adhered to a brutal training regime to gain their amazing physiques however the training regime used is not recommended for long term use and was only used short term for the film role because it would literally cripple the actors if used long term. The same is true of ‘fad’ diets, some do work with great effects however they are short term and a lot are very bad for your health. It’s also worth noting that because the weight is burnt off quickly it is very easy to put the weight back on.

So, do Fad Diets actually work?

The short answer is that yes some do work and some don’t. The main issue is if the ‘fad’ diet works you need to take into account the health issues that using these unique ways to lose weight will inflict on your body. Any celebrity will say, in the case of both brutal exercise and ‘fad’ diets used for film roles that these methods should not be used for general weight loss because of the health implications, these actors and actresses will not use these methods when getting in shape normally, they will use healthy options that are good for the body and in case of weight loss it’s a fairly slow process if you want to actually keep the weight off afterwards.

How to Lose Love Handles

The key to losing your love handles (the fat stored at the sides of your stomach area) is to combine a healthy diet, cardio exercise and specific lower abdominal exercises. Controlling your diet will help you build energy and reduce fat. This can be accomplished by eating a healthy varied diet and most importantly cutting the amount of calories you receive on a daily basis.

Now, apart from controlling your diet you will need to exercise. The first type of exercise you will need to do is cardiovascular exercise (cardio). The main benefit of cardio workouts when trying to lose love handles is that first of all you’re getting healthier which will lead to more energy when exercising. The second reason for cardio exercise is that it is extremely effective at burning off fat. Unfortunately it isn’t possible to target specific areas of fat when doing cardio exercise; this is where you will need to step it up.

After establishing that you need a healthy calorie controlled diet and regular cardio exercise to lose love handles we now come to another important factor. So far we have talked about losing weight and of course this is important , however you need to also include targeted exercises that directly affect your lower abdominal. The best exercises for the lower abdominal area are side bends and hip rolls – with these three components combined you should be able to easily get rid of those irritating love handles.

If you’re still having trouble here are some tips to help out:

• Eat early – Eating late at night is a big problem for a lot of people when it comes to losing weight as the vast majority of people will not be active in the late evening, try not to eat late and not to snack.

• No junk food – Yes junk food tastes nice but it is seriously bad for your health and if you are trying to lose weight it’s an absolute no. Junk food is full of saturated fats, try replacing junk food with healthy food gradually over time.

• Fresh food – Most people go for convenience when it comes to food and cooking but with a little extra effort you can make your meals much healthier by buys fresh produce and this will help boost your energy levels so exercise isn’t such a chore.

• Less alcohol – It should be no surprise to anyone who drinks alcohol that alcohol is extremely fattening and the fat produced by alcohol will go straight onto your lower abdomen. Tyr to stop drinking or cut down.

• Exercise – The best way of losing weight is simple exercise. This can even be as simple as walking more often say to your local shops or your workplace, every little bit of effort counts.

Understanding the hCG Diet

The hCG Diet is a very controversial weight loss method. hCG stands for the hormone Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, which is the same hormone that is produced by women in their early stages of pregnancy. During pregnancy, the surge of this hormone signals the hypothalamus in the brain to start moving nutrients and fat into the placenta. When used as part of a weight loss program, it is the fat-mobilization aspects of the hormone that has garnered attention for its seeming ability to help facilitate weight loss. Although it is used in conjunction with a very low calorie diet, any weight loss that occurs is likely to be due to the reduced caloric intake rather than the hCG.

Those who use hCG to lose weight must also follow a very strict diet that amounts to no more than 500 calories a day. Sugars, very sweet fruits, processed foods and heavy starches are not allowed. The hCG Diet protocol outlined by Dr. A.T.W. Simeons' hCG Diet looks like this:

Breakfast: Coffee or tea with artificial sweetener and one tablespoon of fat free milk, or 1 cup cereal (Special K, Cherrios, Total) and 2/3 cup fat free milk.

Lunch: is 100 grams of lean meat, poultry or fish in addition to one low-glycemic vegetable like spinach, celery, cucumbers or cabbage. One Melba toast and one fruit like half of a grapefruit or an apple is also allowed.

Dinner: is the same as lunch.

In addition, shots of apple cider vinegar can be taken as a daily supplement. Products and make-up that contain any fatty substances like mineral oil or almond oil cannot be used.

When you're on a very low calorie diet like the one presented with the hCG diet making your foods count is vital. You will have a much higher success rate if you don't feel deprived so having something interesting and filling on your plate makes a huge difference.

hCG Common Uses on hCG in Athletes

When used on a cycle sparingly, hCG helps to maintain testicular size and condition but it is speculated that the intermittent administration of hCG will keep the testicles receptive to LH, when we eventually go off a cycle. This may be due to hCG’s ability to maintain of a higher level of Inter-Testicular-Testosterone (ITT), when used during a cycle. This could aid and quicken your recovery of the hypothalamic-testicular-pituitary-axis. This is certainly possible. When used after a cycle, it will still help in restoring your testicles back to their original size, and provide stimulation for the Leydig cells. Both methods have merit, and there’s no reason why you can’t use hCG every third week at a one time dose (perhaps) 500iu or so, and then use it at that same dose for a daily schedule at the outset of your Post Cycle Therapy.

The hCG hormone was recently added to the list of “banned substances” in Major League Baseball; it was becoming increasingly popular among steroid users. Athletes turned to this, among other “performance enhancing drugs”, because it “mitigates the side effects of ending a cycle of steroids.”

Effects of hCG on Men

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin is a suubstance that, in  the human body, mimics Leutenizing Hormone (LH). LH is secreted by your body, and its secretion then signals the body to begin releasing testosterone.

hCG is typically employed by steroid-using athletes to bring back some naturally produced testosterone into their bodies. However, hCG is clinically used both to induce ovulation and treat certain ovarian disorders in women.

In men it utilized to stimulate the testes in hypogonadal men (men who are not producing testosterone). It has also shown promise in the treatment of undescended testicles in young males.

The action of hCG in males is very similar to that LH, because they are chemically similiar and since LH binds to receptors on human Leydig cells, we see a similar mechanism of action with hCG. Once it binds and begins to stimulate the receptors of the Leydig cells, it begins to trigger the synthesis and secretion of testestosterone. However, hCG will only sned an "artificial" signal to the testes through Leydig cell stimulation. Thus, it is possible that hCG use can cauuse Leydig cell desensitization. I don't know of anyone who has actually experienced this, nor who have claimed that it's happened to either them or a friend, or whatever-anecdotal evidence here is scarce.

There are two schools of thought regarding hCG use, and neither are very new. In fact, both have been around since the earliest books on underground steriod use, and were spoken about more than a decade ago by Dan Duchane (Underground Steriod Handbook) and also by W. Nathaniel Philips (Anabolic Reference Guide volume 1-6).

hCG and the Good it's used for...Men and Women

hCG is clinically used both to induce ovulation and treat certain ovarian disorders in women. In men hCG is utilized to stimulate the testes in hypogonadal men (men who are not producing testosterone). It has also shown promise in the treatment of undescended testicles in young males.

In an indirect way via the anterior pituitary, hCG regulates menstration and facilitates conception, but it never virilizes a woman or  feminizes a man. It neither makes men grow breasts nor does it interfere with their virility, though where this may be a deficient it may irmprove it. It never makes women grow a beard or develop a gruff voice.

hCG and Weight loss

A controversial usage of hCG is an adjunct to the British endocrinologist A.T.W. Simeons' ultra-low-calorie weight-loss diet (less than 500 calories). Simeons, while studying pregnant women in India o a calorie-deficient diet, and "fat boys" with pituitary problems reated with low-dose hCG, claimed that both lost fat rather than lean (muscle) tissue. He reasoned that hCG must be programming the hypothalamus to do this is in the former cases in order to protect the developing fetus by promoting mobilization and consumption of abnormal, excessive adipose deposits. Simeons, practicing at Salvator Mundi International Hospital in Rome, Italy, recommended low-dose daily hCG injections (approximately 125 IU) in combination with a customized ultra-low-calorie (500 cal/day. high-protein, low-carbohydrate/fat) diet loss of adipose tissue without loss of lean tissue.

Program Plan Includes - 2 2oz. bottles of  Non-Prescriptive hCG with amino acids all natural supplement, 1 bottle of Sub-lingual Vitamin B-12 Tablets, Meal Plan Suggestions - Special Price $130.00.

Adapt and Adjust! Don't Self Destruct!

Since you began your journey of "I'm gonna get into better shap", "I'm gonna lose 10, 20, 30 pounds this year", you've been procrastinating for years. Now it's time to do something about it. You've been learning how to integrate better nutrition and physical activity into your daily life.

In renewing our minds on how we view foods, it is truly a lifestyle change. You've gotta realize that living healthfully in today's grab-n-go world, 24/7, 365 days of the year, requires navigating countless minefields of tempting trash treats and hefty speed bumps every time you want to get in some physical activity. When men and women begin a journey to improve their health, shed pounds, and become fit, the original enthusiasm begins to fade right around the fourth week. Red flags alert is when you start hearing words spill from your lips "I was doing fine UNTIL.....", as you contemplate throwing in the towel. Especially since you've not been in a month. Your excuse possibilities are endless.

Your next step in your quest to become lean, healthier, and more fit is to learn how to manage these life stresses without reerting to old habits - eating your way through the stress, dropping the workouuts, ceasing to do things that make you happy, and abandoning your self care. It is not the strongest of the species who survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change” quoted by Charles Darwin. it's been discovered by Scientist for years that survival is based upon the ability to be flexible, to modify habits as needed in response to life's ever changing stressful environment. This is about regrouping when life throws you a curve ball and the two critical elements of regrouping involivng the ability to adapt and adjust. "The goal is to show that no matter what hits you in life, you can adapt and adjust without resorting to self destructive behaviors."

Adapt is a mental attitude that says "I'm facing a situation that I have to come to grips with.." It' about accepting the situation - I've gained 30 pounds, I'm 45 and don't have time to exercise - with as minimal negative effects on yourself - as possible. What you are doing is getting real and wrapping yoru head around whatever the stress is, while accepting a new reality.

Adjust is the technical end of regrouping equation. Now that you've mentally adapted to the new reality - I've gained 30 pounds - I'm in menopause - I've been dieting and can't seem to lose the weight - you're ready to map out a strategyy to deal with this stress. It's about formulating a plan and implementing it and committing to it.

Think Small Lose Big!!!

Women’s Health – Birthdays Don’t Add-Up, Hormonal Milestones Do

A hot area of research is body composition, the proportions of fat, muscle, and bone that make up total body weight.

Women live longer than men for a multitude of reasons – which means not only women to save 20% more to live off, biological, behavioral, social, psychological. However, these days, chronological age is only a tiny piece of the story. Thanks to the new advancement study of women medicine better nutrition, more physical activity, and a decline in smoking, the rate of disabilities among seniors has dropped dramatically. There are many peri-menopausal or menopausal women are running marathons or climbing mountains at 50-plus. I’m excited about life and look forward to the adventures I desire to do at age 50.

To take a groundbreaking view of female health, we must take our Quest-for-Life a step further. Instead of fixating on age to determine what considered the “Normal-Average” activity for a 43-year old woman, let’s consider speaking in terms of Milestones. Let’s consider our health and body’s physical fitness during each Hormonal Milestones:

• Milestone 1: Menstruation to First Pregnancy

• Milestone 2: The Reproductive Years

• Milestone 3: Peri-menopause

• Milestone 4: Beyond Menopause

Each of the Milestone represents a significant shift in our hormonal makeup and have a significant implication for our health. An example to consider would be in the first Milestone, the surge of estrogen and other female hormones affect our hearts, our bones, our fat storage, our trouble-spot areas and our emotions.

Its time out for musing or obsessing about something without doing anything about it, we need to “just do it.” Well, that’s it, put it to an end. No more agonizing that you’re too big to go to the gym. No more putting off walks until you find the perfect pair of tennis shoes. You already know what to do. Well I’m here to help you and assist you with getting it done. You can easily get a personal trainer to training in the privacy of your home or join a bootcamp, where you can meet other like minded women and better relate to.

I want to challenge you to a 16-week Challenge. Each segment is an ongoing stimulation of personal challenges – in which you are either shedding or maintaining weight – by putting on muscle mass and decreasing body fat – incorporating proper eating habits – that you cycle through for a lifestyle change.

Whether it’s pregnancy, illness, surgery, serious stress – or anything that causes you lose weight and regain it, you’ll have the necessary tools to stay mentally and physically fit. {Who knows maybe you’ll be inspired to join Living Life Golden 100,000 Bootcamp Weight loss Challenge (www.livinglifegolden.com) and have a chance to win some cold hard cash.}

A Breakthrough!!

I consider myself as an extreme optimist. I set out on a journey years ago not knowing exactly what it was that I wanted to do. I wanted to be a part of something bigger than me. It was through perseverance that The Well Woman Research Organization dba LivingLifeGolden.com was birthed and through adversity the business was conceived. The Legacy begins….and I’m “Living my life like its Golden” giving Hope to others. I’ve believe I’ve found my purpose – The Well Woman Research Organization.

There a book I read years ago, Fight Fat after Forty, as approaching what was said to be an undesirable age “40”. Not so undesirable. I’m loving it! I’ve learned a lot about myself and a lot about my body. After being introduced to the world of stress – and the fat connection it was and still is life changing. I now have made it my mission to help educate the world on preventing Toxic Fat that sits around our abdominal area. For women the stubborn fat inside your belly that accumulates when stress is out of control has been linked to the cause of many chronic diseases.

Women’s health is getting worse! More than 35 percent of women carry at least 50 pounds more than what’s recommended for optimal health. What’s painful and frightening at the same time is our daughters are becoming so sedentary and overweight, they risk being the first generation to not live as long as their parents. The most successful hopeful plan for today’s women would have to factor in the realities of a women’s whole life – a full-time career, motherhood, being a wife (for some), endless care giving, and the stress the comes with doing it all. There’s significant importance of specific nutrients for women’s health like calcium, iron and folic acid. This is important why? Because it’s need to accommodate the fluctuations in mood, energy, and appetite, that happens around the time before and during a women monthly cycle or during peri-menopause. During this stressful time it would also address issues of emotional eating and poor body image – issues that women struggle with on a daily basis, while men and children alike are now facing too.

The word challenge for me has taken on a new meaning…suggesting hope, possibility and empowerment. Accepting the challenge means quitting is not an option.

The mind/body programs suggest as transformation, which synthesizes the newest science; my expertise in the fields of fitness, nutrition, stress and metabolism; and my experience of helping to teach people about revitalizing their health and their lives. The Well Woman Research Organization refined programs, a natural, healthier, interactive plan for healthier living that incorporates information and nutrition, exercise, and stress management specifically chosen to help achieve Living a Golden Life!

What's a Hand Full of candy Worth to You?

We all crave something sweet or crunch from time to time. However, with candy, mini-crackers, nuts and other loose snacks, the amount you can hold in the center of your hand can exceed the serving size-especially if you are a man with large hands. Most of us have very little calories to spare within a day, once we've had our breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Depending upon your age, gender and how physically active you are, eating a well-balanced diet that includes vegetables, fruits, whole-grain foods, low-or non-fat dairy and lean proteins to get the essentials nutrients your body needs (on a daily basis) may leave you with “maybe” an extra 100 – 150 calories t indulge in a food that supplies empty calories., if you want to keep from gaining weight. If you don’t cut calories elsewhere – for example, using skim milk in your cereal, using a non-caloric sweetener in your coffee or not drinking alcohol – you may not be able to work candy or other snacks into your diet without gaining weight.

The Wellness Uterus Organization

The Healthy Uterus

A normal uterus is the shape and size of an upside down pear, approximately three to four inches wide and two to three inches in height. The top of uterus is called the fundus, from which the fallopian tubes extend out on either side, with an ovary near the end of each fallopian tube. Below the fundus is the body of the uterus which is made up of two layers of tissue: the endometrium in the inside lining of the uterus; and the myometrium is the muscular wall of the uterus. The cervix is immediately below the body of the uterus and contains the cervical canal, which passes into the vagina. All of the components joined together to make up the uterus.

The ovaries and certain areas of the brain control center for a woman's hormonal cycle. Hormones are produced within the brain which control a female entire reproductive cycle. These hormones also affect the level of estrogen produced within the ovaries as well as the monthly growth of the endometrium. Estrogen released in ovaries regulates the release of eggs during ovulation, which also affects the uterus and the vagina, and ultimately, the growth of uterine fibroid tumor(s). As women approach their mid-40's, the level of these hormones can become unbalanced, leading to symptoms such as a hot flashes, fatigue, mood swings, abnormal eating patterns and insomnia, which normally occur during the beginning of menopause. Fluctuations of these hormones occur less frequently as a woman approaches full menopause. It is very good to know your body by now, for example if you experience a vast amount of headaches for no particular reason it may be a good idea to visit an OB/GYN or your personal care physician.

Because of the delicate balance of the hormones that are released by the ovaries and the brain, it is necessary to understand the importance of the role the ovaries and the uterus play in the maintaining a woman’s monthly cycle. It is also important to understand what happens if the uterus and ovaries are suddenly removed to treat the symptoms of such uterine fibroids. If a woman with symptoms of uterine fibroids is treated with a full hysterectomy (where the ovaries and the uterus are totally removed), this delicate balance may be disrupted, which may cause other symptoms, such as hot-flashes, depression, mood swings, abnormal eating patterns, excessive fatigue, insomnia and osteoporosis. Although some patients do maintain their ovaries, there may be other side affects with the removal of the uterus, such as urinary incontinence, sexual dysfunction, excessive fatigues and adhesions (a piece of tissue that has grown around a small injury or disease area).
